According to the CBO (http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/87xx/doc8758/MainText.3.1.shtml), federal spending on health care will soar from 5% of our current GDP to 20% GDP. Similarly, during Obama's speech to Congress about health care in September, he talked about how one of the mandatory components of reform is driving down the long term costs of health care. However, many (such as Atul Gawande and 20 leading economists) have argued that there are not enough measures to hold down costs of health care. There are several pilot programs such as "Accountable Care Organizations", and the creation of an Independent Medical Advisory Committee (IMAC), but are such pilot programs going to be enough?
