America's Armageddonities
John Utley discusses how millions of Americans have a death wish. They are the new "Armageddonites," fundamentalist Christians who have moved from forecasting Armageddon to actually bringing it about. Utley' wrote his article in October 2007 before Sarah Palin was trust upon America's stage by the Christian Right of the Republican Party.
While many associate the Christian Fundamentalists with creationism, anti-choice, anti-gay, and abstinence as the only form of birth control, less well known is their belief in the pre-tribulational rapture of the church.
As Utley points out, "These Armageddonites believe that they alone will get a quick, free pass when they are “raptured” to paradise, no good deeds necessary, not even a day of judgment. Ironically, they share this utopian fantasy with a group that they often castigate, namely fundamentalist Muslims who believe that dying in battle also means direct access to Heaven."
"These end-timers have great influence over the U.S. government’s foreign policy. They are thick with the Republican leadership."
They are the Chistian Zionists that support war...Israel's war against Muslim Palestinians. Sarah Palin's Pentecostal Church is a firm believer in this End Times doctrine. Would a Sarah Palin Presidency encourage war because of her church's support for the Biblical prophecy? It's a serious question that needs to be addressed. I think she is a closet Armageddonite.
