I rank highly any TV journalist that does his/her homework and can gauge in an intellectual discussion on a subject asking the right follow-up questions. In that regard here are my Favorite Five:

1. Rachel Maddow on MSNBC
2. Fareed Zakaria, CNN GPS
3. Bill Moyers, PBS
4. Christiane Amanpour, CNN
5. Keith Olbermann, MSNBC

There are others like Ed Schultz (MSNBC), David Schuster (MSNBC), and Bill Maher (HBO) that are likable but don't engage in as much in honest intellectual debate on challenging subjects.

Any others?

Jon Stewart (Comedy Central) I also agree with you about Maddow and Moyers.

I'm a huge fan of Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart on Comedy Central.

I appreciate Chris Matthews' passion, just wish he'd shut up and let his guests talk uninterrupted.

Yeah, I like Chris Matthews and his historical perspective on political events, but I just hate it when he talks over people. He does it all the time. l also appreciate Ed Shultz's support for middle class and union workers, but sometimes he can be overly passionate. Still he is a genuine voice for those that have been oppressed by heavy handed corporatists.
