Sarah Palin in Trouble as Oil Prices Fall, AP
Sarah Palin's first two years as Alaska's governor is described as "a time of milk and honey, when the resource-rich state was flush with wealth from record oil prices". Her "windfall profits tax" on the oil companies was popular with the tax payers, as were her generous earmarks from Washington DC (Remember that road to no where?). Now that she has pooh poohed taking earmarks and no longer can dip her hand into the oil company cookie jar, where will she get the money to support her spending programs? No problem -- the state currently has $6.6 billion in its constitutional budget reserve fund that she could tap into. Watch this fund in the next year Alaskans. I'm sure Sarah is too.
