Looking at the "result" it is laughable; first of all Trump warned them ,so they probably had at least a week to remove the chemicals; second "bombs" are never a solution and nothing to be "proud" of as stupid Pence said. It will not change anything over there. It only did cost over 50 million plus; which money could have better been used to help those affected people.

I guess this was only done to boost Trumps ego; nothing else. Why the French and Brits joined this, is for me an huge question, as well stupid. I guess Trump persuaded them with lies and deceit. Sorry but this country is the most stupid banana republic in the world.

I have read stories susuggesting the strikes were successful and others stating Syrian military (with a huge Russian assist) shot down around 70 missiles. Just goes to show that you can have an incident happen and both sides can claim superiority and success. Russia sells more anti aircraft weapons to Syria and the US, UK, and France can claim that they helped improve a horrible situation. Some claim empty buildings were among the strikes.

Don't know this source but it was an interesting read.

... And trump used the infamous claim "Mission Accomplished". The famous words used after the invasion of Iraq that lead to a huge messes\failure.

Is trump that ignorant and stupid, or did he use that exact same term simply to fuck with the entire world knowing that by saying "Mission Accomplished" he make the US look like morons?

    70 cruise missiles?

"With an estimated cost of $1.4 million each, Raytheon's Tomahawk missile has an intermediate range of 800 to 1,553 miles and can be deployed from more than 140 U.S. Navy ships and submarines. In 1995, the United Kingdom became the second military to add the Tomahawk to its arsenal.

What makes the Tomahawk exceptionally lethal is its capability to carry a 1,000-pound conventional warhead and be reprogrammed midflight."

That's a lot of money. Why didn't they just pay Assad $70M or offer to pay him to stop killing his own people?

Wasn't "Russia" supposed to manage the removal of the Syrian chemical weapons ? Well that obviously was well done.

It was done to relieve the political pressure to do it, pressure from military-industrial shills like John McCain and Lindsay Graham, pressure from the media and, let's be honest, pressure from many Democrats. Trump could either do as he was told or be depicted, again, as Putin's puppet. Rather than brave these political attacks, he launched some physical attacks on people in Syria, capitulating to the pressure like the weakling that he is.

The fact that within 24/48 hours became a week where Vladimir probably orchestrated everything - proves he's a puppet on a string. Pitiful what you can accomplish when your minions video tape Russian prostitutes pissing all over a said to be powerful man.

Trump claims there were over a "hundred" deployed; thus more than a $140 million wasted taxpayer money. Plus the cost of having the ships, planes, military carry this out.

What did we get back for it? NOTHING at all. Assad is still in place and does what he wants and still drops "barrel" bombs with just about the same result as "chemical" barrel bombs. In the meantime there are millions of refugee's in Jordan an Turkey. The US has only allowed 11 Syrians into this country until now; Europe adopted millions. So who is the hypocrite in this disaster? The $140 million would have been much better used to help the refugee's with food and shelter. Our sweetheart President even cut the donations to the UN, so they don't have the resources or money either. I guess Trump does not care about animals, let alone about "people". For him only "himself" counts; nothing else.

ATM, I can't remember where I read it, but the Russian were given enough advance notice about the attack that they were able to pull out from targeted areas, and the US made sure Russian strongholds\bases were not targeted.

Another thing I wonder about is how much of Syrian stockpiles and other important weapons\technology would be stored above ground where they could be easily targeted by missiles. Any modern military surely would take measures to safegaurd their weapons from direct missile attacks.
