The New Yorker: Locals Were Troubled by Roy Moore’s Interactions with Teen Girls at the Gadsden Mall

The revelations that Roy Moore hung around the Gadsden shopping mall looking to pick up teen age girls is well known amongst the locals. Moore was even banned from the Mall because of his "preying" behavior. I would guess that he scored a few times, and that's why he kept going back looking for more prey.

Look forward to more women to come out of the closet and share their memories of Moore, maybe even more damning than the women who have spoken out so far. Perhaps another episode of the Harvey Weinstein revelations, except that the many Christian evangelical supporters who lie in his bed are "married" to him.

I heard that at least 50 plus Pastors support Moore. Thus again it shows that "evangelicals" meddled in election(s) in an big way. Trump also gave these idiots the freedom to promote the GOP in the next elections. I always thought there was a "clause" of separation of "church" and "State". Thus not!!

I cannot handle the Hannity viewers destroying their Keurigs. This is like a South Park episode. Satire is dead.

Child molesters are still 2 notches above Democrats in their book. Some things (being left) are not forgivable.

I think it is the "ideal" that Roy Moore represents that they want to be true. He is God Damn John Wayne! ;)

It is interesting that this has not been uncovered before. My guess is that local news reporting does not dare dig too deep. At the national level, organizations like Washington Post, NY Times, etc have significantly more resources and experience in going after hard news that has been laying around for years not yet touched\ignored. Good chance they were tipped off by local news people who knew a lot more they are allowed to talk about.

    How sick.

Like I said; this whole backwards "evangelical" State, never ever used their brains to conclude that the pulpit only produces snake oil.

You don't get babies without "sperm" ask any cow. Neither does "sperm" fall from the sky. Jesus was just an 100% "human" baby conceived by "sperm" He shit in his goat skin diapers just like any kid ; and said "ta ta" when he was one years old. He became an "preacher" without job; eventually loafing around with twelve gay guys etc. This story was written in jail by an Apostle in Rome. Jesus himself never wrote one word. Yes the truth hurts, evangelicals..

I don't believe the person who came to be known as Jesus ever actually existed, but that is neither here nor there. Millions of people believe a person who wasn't mentioned until at least forty years after his apparent death is their savior. It's not my business to tell them they are wrong, but it's not like writing wasn't around between the forty years after his supposed death and the first writings about him.

However, the Jesus as quoted in the King James Bible would probably be pretty upset with a pedophile who frequents shopping malls in order to catch his prey. I don't think Jesus, whether he was real or not, would be happy with one of his followers preying on young children.

But who am I kiddin? Jesus was a Republican and voting for a pedophile over a Democrat is what he would instruct his followers to do.

This is a win-win for democrats from a political view point. If Moore pulls out it is highly likely Democrats wins the Senate seat. If Moore wins the election, then Moore becomes a HUGE national symbol\target that can be used against the republican party. Not just on this issue of liking\dating\fondling\etc underage girls, but also because he is openly racist and a homophobe that would push a 1950s-like White Christians First agenda.

More women coming out to tell their Roy Moore" stories today...first it was original four including the 14 year old...then one more who was abused in Moore's car...then one which was six today. And then on Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow's show tonight two more. That's a total of eight women according to ABC News. Still have a way to go to reach Trump's 17 accusers though.

Gena Richardson's recounting of her episode with Moore seems more damning. Many of the news sources have toned down the "forceful kiss" that Moore made on Richardson, a high school senior at the time. Her description to the Post was more vivid:

"It was a man kiss - like really deep tongue. Like very forceful tongue. It was a surprise. I'd never been kissed like that," Richardson told the newspaper. "And the minute that happened, I got scared then. I really did. Something came over me that scared me. And so I said, 'I've got to go, because my curfew is now.'"

This guy seemed to have a fetish for young high school girls. Sick.

But some people cling to their mythological beings of Jesus, god, and other things they believe are fact. As for myself, I think and believe an American Indian is closer to the earth and heavens than most any religion, I don't know why I believe that, but I do. Maybe it's because they don't try to push their beliefs upon other people like Christians or Evangelicals will do.

The folks in Alabama were an embarrassment before all of this mess. They have miraculously gone from very bad to far worse. Just when you think a group is as low as it can be and they manage to sink further..... Well the proud neighbors Mississippi feel a bit superior now.

    All things are possible.

sigh.... Senator Al Franken may have handed Moore what he needed to win.

The more "common" the problem appears on both sides, the more likely the voters of Alabama will just shrug it of as "boys will be boys, so get over it." the assumption being that congress is already filled with dirty old men, at least Moore is a dirty old man that is on their side.

And now democrats can't claim the high ground, and republicans have a deflection point so Moore becomes old news of something that was known locally for many years, but not talked about.

Easily predict Fox News and other trump's attack dogs will be saying if Moore is rejected or forced to step aside, then Al Franken should resign.

I going to throw this out there because it was my first hand experience.

I worked in the cell industry in the mid 1990s when mobile phones were just started to enter the mainstream. I worked with a married women who was an executive assistance (glorified Secretary that has power via proxy) once said these exact words during a light hearted conversation:

"I kind of like a little bit of sexual harassment now and then"

The gist was that she enjoyed when powerful men flirted with her. It made her feel good about herself that they found her sexually attractive.

I do not know how many women at that time and place might privately agree. I personally thought she was a bit of a flake and very immature for a woman in her late 30s. Her husband was a helicopter pilot for the local ABC affiliate. He did the night traffic reports on TV and Radio, plus other news reports from the sky.

Yes there are all kinds and I'm sure many incidents of what would be classified as "sexual harassment" might be more along the lines of "consensual foreplay" for others who enjoy the attention. However, the mistake for many of the men harassers (and some women) is that they kind of lump their opposites together as having similar biological traits and misread certain situations.

On the subject of biological urges, I saw an article this morning on MSN News where an Ohio State legislator (Wes Goodman, Republican) had to resign for getting caught having sex with another man in his office. What is surprising to his constituents is that Goodman has been a champion of "natural marriage" being between a man and a woman. As per the MSN News article, "his campaign website, which is now offline, outlined his views on family: "Healthy, vibrant, thriving, values-driven families are the source of Ohio's proud history and the key to Ohio's future greatness. The ideals of a loving father and mother, a committed natural marriage, and a caring community are well worth pursuing and protecting.""

It doesn't matter if you are a religious person. If your natural biological urges cannot be suppressed, they will find ways to be acted out. I suspect for Goodman, this relationship has been going on for a while and he finally got caught.

Likewise for Roy Moore, if he had (has) a natural infatuation for teenage girls, his record in that regard will ultimately reveal more than just the nine women who have come forth so far. The difference in Moore's case is that he had the support of an evangelical community who revered him. Cognitive dissonance until one of your loved ones is the victim.
