I saw this quote in Facebook and was looking for a thread to share it:

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.” -- Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman Statesman, 42 BC

    ---------------------------------------------------------

There are genetics traits in humans that continue to be passed on to future generations through natural selection. These people have passed on their genes for thousands of years. Today their genes can found to varying degrees in the tribe known as Republicans but really manifest themselves in the character of Donald Trump.

    My opinion worthy of debate...

That is amazingly true as to what is happening today. Ironic, history is repeating itself.

Yes indeed "l'histoire ce repette" the French have learned from it, the US not. As an example: We had Vietnam, did we learn from it? Answer: NO! We had Republicans from way back and recently, who still think an "top down" economy works for the poor. Did they ever learn from it? I guess not! Also I guess in 42 BC, Marcus Cicero was smarter than Trump by a long shot.

In terms of character, it shows many national level republicans are easily intimidated from within, afraid of individuals who have have impressive communication skills that say the most vile things. They are afraid of being Tweeted by trump, and one of trump's #1 skills is the smell of fear; and he feeds off it. He is a political troll that loves to screw with people and the public, even his own base.

Trumpism: only a weak person admits when they are wrong. And I am never wrong.

    Trumpism: arrogance is bliss.
