The silver lining is that Donald doesn't seem to really understand how government functions and the give and take of Congressional negotiations. His deal with the Democrats seemed more designed to stick a thumb in Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell's eye than anything else. If he continues to make deals with Democrats that give us 90% of what we want then I'm a-ok with it, but I hope the Democratic leadership in both houses holds firm on things that are sacrosanct to Democrats.

It very likely he made his decisions to tick off the republican leaders.

I truly wonder about his ability to comprehend policies details is akin to listening to two physics professors with differing views on Quantum Mechanics, and expect trump to make a decision on the future of physics when he has no idea what either of them said.

The simply answer however is that he has no interest in what either they are saying. Just like in forums or tweets, they loose his attention after 128 characters. Maybe the republicans gave him a 100+ page detailed report, and democrats gave him 1 page with large fonts and less than 128 characters. :)

I'm just fine with that. If Democrats are able to convince him to sign onto a plan based off a single page document with a bunch of pictures on it then that's a-ok with me.

Donald isn't smart. He doesn't like to read policy papers or take the time to think about what his actions will do. If the Democrats are able to capitalize on that and convince him to sign off on things that will benefit the party then why in the world wouldn't we take that as a win?

Trump is a dimwitted mentally ill idiot. He is dealing with the smartest people on the planet and he is being played with like a puppet on a string . He is being handled like a child and stalked like a rabbit. Of course the Democrats are going to try and get him to sign off on their stuff in exchange for a few magic beans. This is just another sad episode in our embarrassment as a nation.

Might as well try to avert catastrophe .

CNN said DACA is firm in place,

    MSNBC says it's not,

and may be tied to budget and debt ceiling negotiations, Trump still says, no deal on DACA, democrats are already doing a happy dance. wtf is going on? Who is lying?

Both of them are only slightly better than their Republican counterparts! They stand for the same values as far as I can see but they are even less honest about it. Until the Dems clean house and get rid of all these phonies and start supporting real and honest Progressive candidates we are all left to flounder as usual.

I don't even see anyone on the horizon that will even excite the people a little bit!

We have to also keep in mind that everything Trump does has two main motives -- 1) to enhance his own image and prestige, and 2) to destroy Obama's legacy.

He has zero empathy and will even throw his own children and wives under the bus to get what he wants. Democrats are easy fodder.

He is also vindictive, and will show no mercy for anyone who crosses him...the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico for example. Or a prominent Republican like John McCain.

Schmidt, I'll add an number 3) Destroy the US as we know it; like a war with N.K. and may be Iran as well. I've got the feeling that people here have no idea of the present US standing in the world; it is like falling of an cliff . I do read European news; they are all shaking their heads. How long will it take before this country gets its senses back??? Unbelievable !

I think that this Trump family must be from outer space. There is no way they are from earth. With zero self awarness zero empathy for humans they are from another planet sent here to destroy our planet. eight billion people , verses the fat idiot and his clan, and a few other aliens .

Well, there's nothing like pissing off 20 to 30 million people over healthcare. That's about how many might lose their gov't subsidies.

If the party doesn't wake up and make significant changes in the party leadership and their comatose failure at communications with the 30+ not blue states.... I may join the chicken nuggets, curly fries and prime time television crowd. Voting is not important. You don't need me or us.

Stay exactly the same so I can mock you in the future. 18% sarcasm. 82% ready to not vote if they keep it all the same.
