Dutch, I will play the devil's advocate for a moment. If we roll back time to the 30s. How could Hitler's rise to power have been prevented. If the US had not put ended to it using force, Germany and the Nazi party could control of Europe and Russia this very day.

Today in his press conference, trump said "Let's see what he does to Guam!"

And imagine if trump had said "Let's see what they do to Kentucky" daring NK attack a US State.

He is playing a game of chicken, daring NK to create a sequel to Pearl Harbor.

trump is using Guam, and all the people that live there as live bait. He is willing to risk their lives to prove he got the guts to launch a massive military attack against NK.

How is it possible that in an country which claims to be "religious" , that "war" is something an "invisible" never seen entity (god) approves of and wants (see my "attachment" above of 8/10 and open it).? Do we live in an "nuthouse" claiming to be the "example" for the world? Sorry to say the world around us has given up about the US and don't consider this an to be trusted country.

Bush did the same thing, god is behind him to do right.

Religious zealots usually quote verses from a bible out of context.

Ingrained exceptualism that squandered the peace bonus after WWII. The US was the savior basking in adoration and traveling the world taking every opportunity to capitalise and profit. The right wing reinforced selfishness and self determination. US citizens were either productive or bums. No consideration for anything else. Families needing help and were shamed. Welfare became a vile dirty word. Benevolence was fought and shamed.

Do people here realize what "war" does? First of all it will not solve anything; look at our history of wars. How many crippled veterans do we have? Which wars were an solution? None. The Korea thing is already going on since 1947. What is there to gain for us? NOTHING at all. Our "militarism" is the noose around our necks. It will crash the stock market, it will cost trillions, let alone millions in lives. What about the replacement of all the lost war equipment; some nut head President for sure wants to replace those ; thus even less money available for social things let alone infrastructure. ( We've been doing that since WWII!) WARS DON'T SOLVE ANYTHING!! Let alone makes lives here better or safer. We started the rhetoric against N.K. already since 1947; that is why we are the "target" We love S.Korea because of "cheap" goods; we abandoned "slavery", but use now those countries as our "slaves" . So we want to protect our "financially favorable to us colony". Communism as was the case with Vietnam is an word which this country does not tolerate and has to be attacked as an excuse ; while "money" for the few rich in the war industry is the objective. Why is this country so afraid of it, while this country is an "island" (which nobody wants to invade) with its own designed "capitalism" system, but invades other countries at will, while the "reverse" does not ever happen?

Look at Vietnam, what did it cost us that in"money" and "lives"? We are still paying for it via our veterans. The N.K issue is not different. L'histoire ce repette.

This country will only flourish without wars and a war machine costing trillions, which only makes a few "super rich" over millions of dead bodies and an polluted ruined world ( Vietnam; napalm/agent orange after effects; Iraq/Syria in ruins millions of homeless/refuge's who someone has to feed. etc.)

It is much easier to talk and to help each other, and a lot less expensive in human sacrifice and money spent. We should be helping each other with new ideas on farming, building infrastructure, and many more things there is in life, rather than trying to kill and destroy each other, when will people wake up?

Dock, the "militarism" is so much indoctrinated here, because of all our constant wars, that people here don't know better. They love all the guns and lots of war toys; kids play war games on their cellphones or I-Pads at the age of 4. The more killing the better. Sorry this country is sick to the bone in that respect. The sad thing is that they don't realize it affects their own environment, healthcare, social services and happiness in life; it is not fun to get an coffin home with your son it, covered by an beautiful flag made in China.

I know what you're saying Dutch, my dad was an immigrant from Europe and became a naturalized citizen before I was even a spark or twinkle in his eyes. As a child, my play things were not guns or anything that resembled a firearm.

My neighbor lady, a divorced mom with an older child (possibly 17) a younger child (possibly 12) and a daughter (possibly 18) and when I watch the 12 year old playing outdoors, he has a gun that fires non lethal darts, they (his friends) run and hide behind my van, as in a combat situation dodging darts. I just shake my head and wonder why a mother would buy such things for her young boy, I have to conclude that it is America's gun culture, or kill culture through indoctrination. I find it disturbing. I can just imagine what the mother allows her young son to watch on television, I would probably not be shocked to know she allows him to watch Walker Texas Ranger or some other garbage TV. It is sickening to think that some day, her sons might be part of the military.

What about the world court? Talk that rises to the level of attack and retaliation certainly has to be treated in light of the possible consequences. Can a case be made against NK that shows the danger of the threats? Although neither leader is affected by opinion, a world recognition of the illegality and consequences may have positive results.
