Trump sounded beyond comprehension. I have lived through a lot of crisis situations. Starting with Berlin and Cuba and Trump sounded the most dangerous of all.

Talk is cheap. Some are suggesting a nuclear possibility. Look at a map and don't forget the wind would carry it over both China and Russia. Not to mention Japan, S. Korea, etc.

    Useless babble is my opinion.

Yes, Trump is 100% a BS guy (second rate sales guy). He is not a leader of people. And he is proving to be a extremely poor front man for the Republican party.

As a personality type, he hates making real decisions that involve huge risks that others will hold him accountable. His body language shows a guy that is afraid of NK. IMHO, its not so much NK he is afraid of, but China, and many other countries who would not support him if he goes to war. This is a case where his base is not enough and they would hold him accountable if it turn into another Iraq war.

It's one thing to bluff in politics where he can tell as many lies as he wants without having to take action, but when it comes to war, lying will get him into very deep shit, and if he attempts to bluff the Chinese, they will call his bluff by taking action based on his BS... Or what if we woke tomorrow and the breaking news was "In response to Trump threats to NK, China is immediately pulling out the US economy by recalling over 1 trillion dollars in US loans". From their perspective, that would be far more effective that using nuclear weapons.

How would Trump handle a problem where China pulls the plug on the entire US economy?

War and rumors of war, from the beginning of time. One in Trump's cabinet sends one message, while he sends another, nobody in this administration is on the same page, they're sending mixed messages, which is confusing to all.

We must remember that everything Trump does has a personal motive -- does it make him look good. He knows how George W. Bush's approval rating shot up to 91 percent after 9/11. Therefore provoking Kim Jung-un to make a strike against Guam might be just what he wanted to take military action. Fighting a common enemy will make his approval ratings go up...unless it also results in a high civilian death toll. It's hard to know how Trump's mind will work in any kind of scenario on North Korea.

The only real options are diplomatic.

I said my thing under the thread N.Korea. It is Bush all over again with "weapons of mass destruction" It has always been the case here when an President is under pressure then it needs an cool head to stop an excuse to start a war; however if you elect an mental case like Trump then "war" is an escape from the Mueller probe. Let's first start with absolute black and white confirmation what N.Korea can do. Like, how is their guidance system; does it work? Do they indeed have an small nuke or is it fake? How many ICBMs which work do they have; or are they displaying cardboard one's to fool our observations? Do the N.K's really want war; it will cost them also dearly? Etc etc. Diplomatic solutions is the only option, but if our "mental" leader goes "nuts" then these options go out of the window. Who is going to reign in this idiot?

    latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-e...

"Despite the escalating tensions and explosive rhetoric, Tillerson urged calm, saying he did not believe that there was "any imminent threat."

"Americans should sleep well at night," Tillerson said."

Wow, that's comforting. I wished he'd let Don know what he's thinking of.

One thing for sure, there would be lots of jobs for Americans making $7.25 an hour!

"The federal minimum wage for covered nonexempt employees is $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009. The federal minimum wage provisions are contained in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). "

It probably will come down to what is in best interest of "Donald J. Trump".

It is my sense of things is that Trump does not want any kind of military action with NK. Probably because he does not consider it in his best interest (with China).

And as odd as it might seem, from his reality TV show perspective, he does not like being upstaged by anything\anyone\etc. He wants to be at the center 100% of the time. The Donald demands to be the star of the world stage, not NK.

On MSNBC during a panel discussion, the topic of using nuclear weapons against NK was debated. They basically concurred that if Trump ordered the military to start a nuclear war against NK, the generals would refuse because the lack of justification and\or immediate threat. In other words, if NK were taunt Trump personally by calling him names, US generals would not obey orders to launch warheads just because Trump's feelings were hurt. Trump would be in a face-off with high ranking generals in a fight that he could not win.

With Trump, the question everyone wants to know is not how smart he is, but how truly unqualified he is to be president; when will he hit bottom?

Just like always the "warmongers' are sticking up their ugly heads of course GOP members of the Hitler type. Just like the picture Schmidt placed: "wars" makes the ratings of the Presidents go up. I don't know why, but it shows how crazy this country is. Totally brainless.

I like to add that this country has an sick mentality related to wars. On TV they explained how all our fantastic war toys would work etc. the types and delivery system as well that they have a "plan". Wow how sick can you get; Bush had also an plan and we are still paying dearly for that plan, even today is cost millions per day with our troops stationed all over the globe and bombing raids in Syria and drone raids all over. DON"T WE HAVE ENOUGH WARS ALREADY??? It has cost us trillions since WWII; did we get better "healthcare" or "social" services because of it? No everything disappears in the huge sinkhole called the Pentagon. We will never learn.

The military "mindset" on this country is an decease what ever drug can cure it? Please read history books then may be you realize that wars never solve anything. Yes it keeps overpopulation in check that is the only benefit!!!
