It is not only Trump who lies; Pence is an champion in doing that. He said with an "stone" face that Medicaid would be super fantastic and even expanded; everyone would get superior healthcare. Knowing how "super religious" the bastard is and gave "the oath" on an huge stack of "Bibles" then it is obvious he tries to outdo Trump. But yeah do some quick prayers and plenty confessions in church and the slate is clean again. Yes we live in "Hypocritical Heaven" for sure with this leadership.

    Lying is the new motto.

Imagine Barack Obama being a liar. Would there have been 1/10th of a percent tolerance for 1 small insignificant falsehood ? Noooo. It's the same ole double standard and we don't have the balls to hold them accountable. Any lies should be very negative. Entirety different standards but white lies are just fine. This country and both parties are a real mess. In '18, '20, '22, and '24 we will still be known as the smart - nice, politically correct party aka the second place finishers.

True. The reason Trump can get away with lying is because he is a natural liar. That is who he truly is; it is part if his core personality. Not lying is hard for him. He is not faking anything when he lies, he is being 100% himself. Oddly enough people can accept a person who is being authentic, even if that person tends to lie a lot.

President Obama is not a natural liar, and people have a very low threshold for an honest president who lies, and are more tolerant of a dishonest president who lies. But there is a limit too, and once Trump screws up, what little support he has left will vanish.

And when Trump says one of his classic lines "Trust me". He's 100% lying.

TJ -- Yes I believe Trump would easily pass a lie detector test. Lying comes so natural too him. It would be interesting to have a clinical evaluation of his mind by professionals. They would look inside and find it empty. Ha.

In the full clinical sense, he is pathilogical. Realistically, at his age, he will never change which would require professional help. He will lie even when its to his benefit to tell the truth, that is one significant reason why the whole Russian BS has become a cover up. Not only does he refuse to tell the truth, but he adds more and more lies rather than simply remain silent.

What Trump does most of the time is mix lies with the truth so it become nearly impossible to sort out what is true, and what is fictional. He has 70+ years to become a highly skilled liar, so we have a professional liar as president; he is not just some lazy uncle who sits on the front porch spinning yarns about killing 1000s of men with his bare hands during The War.

If Trump as was great as claims\lies, he would have taken his company public decades ago. To his credit, he was smart enough not to go public because he would have been fired from his company for mismanagement and\or unethical conduct. Remaining private, he answer to no one, and like an alcoholic, he is free to lie as much as he wants. No ethical company would ever hire him, or if they did, he would be fired very quickly for lying to board of directors, investors, etc, etc.

Wait till Mueller and his team of lawyers investigate Trump's financial background, there's a lot we don't know about yet, like Russia bailing the president out of bankruptcies.

Don't worry he will lie about that as well under oath just like Pence and the rest of the corrupt bunch.

Put them all on lie detectors; "under oath" does not mean anything anymore is this day and age.

The latest; Trump also lied about an second meeting of one hour with Putin, without any other American involved. In Europe they are totally flabbergasted about that because it breaks international rules and protocol; no one in Europe does that without witnesses or someone who takes notes. Even on the two hour plus meeting only Tillerson gave very little information and did not take notes of everything what was said. All of this shows that Trump is just an plain stupid ass.

Here is another beauty in he world of Trump:

Lying being easy or natural / second nature doesn't make it any better or more acceptable. Why no uproar ? You know the answer but most won't address it. White so you can steal, lie, and manipulate. Take our healthcare and be entirely self centered. Just be Caucasian while doing so. More people should be outraged and quite vocal.

It seems to me that there is no outrage for a President that blatantly lies. No public outcry. And his lying is no secret. He prides himself in it. And it is common and perverse in the level that he does business in. A customer of mine opened up an office in Miami and shut it down after two years. He is use to doing business like we do here. I have done a $125,000 job with $100,000 up front to start work for him. No paper work was involved at any stage. He said that in Miami they will tell you anything and if its not on paper you lose. Period. And not by accident. He says they lie all the time and it is up to you to get it right. I have heard Trump talk about doing deals and he inferred the same about the people he deals with. I can't remember his exact words but it was that the guys he deals are sharks and out to get you.

I think there is a lot outrage, but probably not to the level you would like. I suspect you want the outrage to be at impeachment level and beyond. Every morning on Morning Joe, they are obsessed with his lying to the point where they rarely talk about anything else.

In the end, I suspect you are going to get what you want, and Trump will be forced out of Office within 2 years. Trump is working extremely hard to keep something secret as it relates to the Russians, and knows the FBI is asking too many questions about his past business transactions with foreign countries. From what I've read, in the past 10+ years, Trump has been getting funding from questionable sources because Banks in the US don't want to do business with Trump, so he turned to outside sources to get money, and those sources are not friends with the US. Trump may have been informed through back channels that those loans can disappear if CERTIAN THINGS happen in their favor, and\or if those THINGS don't happen, then Trump may find that 100+ million in loans suddenly need to be repaid immediately....Anyway, whatever the reasons, Trump is extremely motivated to keep the russians happy. And in the back if his mind, he knows he's dealing with powerful people who sometimes make their point by having people disappear, such a close family member goes out shopping on a sunny afternoon, never to be seen again. Point is communicated without anything being said.

Absolutely correct; the "baby" is scared as hell that his "money" track will be exposed. He's roaring mad that Mueller is getting his tax returns as well all other financial info, so he's trying to find dirt on Mueller and his staff to needle them. I'm afraid if it will gets too hot under his collar, that he may do weird things, like firing Mueller. However that will make things even worse for him. So wait and see; things will get more interesting over time.

He continues to lie and it doesn't seem to matter. What are his base saying ? Ya know I think he's pretty damned clever. He keeps em guessing.

2 more recent examples. More distractions from Russia conversations ?

No, if you "believe" then you are "brainwashed" and should learn to walk on water or have an pet snake who talks. Thus be thankful that there is an huge brainless "bible" belt here.

If you are talking about his base 30%, then I generally agree. Some of them are hardcore bible belt people, but not all. I do not perceive Trump being evangelical like Mike Pence. Pence is hardcore in his religious beliefs, and far more scary than Trump in terms of policy. Trump's religion is money, power, and himself. Pence would, if he could, make it legal to discriminate against LGBT.

My original point was that a majority of elected Republications officials (and republican voters) do not like Trump, do not trust Trump, and do not respect Trump, but they are willing to use him because he will sign any bill put in front of him.

I believe the democrats would do the same if the tables had been turned, and Trump ran as democrat and won. Democrats would be sitting back tolerating the exact same crap as long as he signed democratic legislation.
