Healthcare is essential for almost all people. The current administration is trying to take it away for shallow reasons. They are actually trying to pass mass tax cuts because the Tea Party likes the idea of people with money not contributing their share. Their version - Trumpcare must always have his name attached so when large numbers get more sick or die, it is remembered as his legacy. I hope much discussion will happen here because little is as important. It's getting close and there aren't yet enough votes but deal making and arm twisting will certainly follow. This article is something I just saw that mentions how women are not equally represented. Surprise.

It's true that the lobby of Pharma companies and Insurance industry is a huge player in Washinton. Finding a way to meet all interests and the clients needs would take real negotiating mastery. I expect only wealthy corporations to make more high levels of profit while the poor and middle class fight to maintain decent coverage. We have gotten spoiled thinking healthcare would always be available. It's going to still be available but if you're not young and healthy it could get very expensive.

Yes Tony; things are getting "sicker" by the day! I saw on CNN that Trump's super PAC put out adds that if anyone opposes the healthcare plan they (I guess "he") will oppose the ones who do this. What that means I don't know, but it sounds like an threat. Indeed the lobby of the Pharma companies and insurance companies are playing an huge role. As I said a million times as long as you elect people with "billions" of Super PAC' money and lobby like crazy, then there is only one word what says it: "corrupt" to the bone!!!! Kind of strange that in Canada and western Europe all have decent healthcare plans WITHOUT lobbyists and Super PAC's. Sorry this is an awful corrupt country, with useless laws. But yeah Jared will not admit that.

I don't know how people earning the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour are going to pay for their healthcare, most will probably go without, and when they become ill, they'll probably end up dying because they couldn't afford healthcare.

Do the republicans or lobbyists care? probably not.

Our short attention span grossly uninformed population don't know and/or don't have the ability to pay attention to what's going on around them. This was discouraging.

The number of concerned informed citizens is probably the same number as people in forums like this.

I highly recommend the HBO Documentary: WARNING: This drug may kill you

It profiles cases of normal middle class people who get medical treatment for an injury (major and minor) and within 2 years they are dead from drug overdose of illegal drugs (ie herion). People who do the unthinkable just to get high, not because they want to, but because the addiction is so strong its impossible to stop, and it all starts with a doctor giving them a few highly addictive pills to stop the pain from something as simple as sprained ankle.

Not typically billionaires or millionaires so it doesn't fully matter to him. Plus most importantly is the fact that a great number of investors profit if sales are way up. Value judgment right in front. The less important versus the profit takers. This week they try to pass a healthcare Bill. Pharma won't absorb a dime. Neither will Insurance. Repubs smart enough to initially oppose will get a parting gift on anything small. Time for citizens to be outraged and voice their opinions. E mail works too.

American Medical Association doesn't like Trump Care. No surprise. Pr, Arizona, and 4 or 5 other members have yet to comment on this topic. I would think there are important comments that will hopefully follow.

The CBO has now scored the Senate version of Trumpcare. The bottom line is that 22 million more Americans will be uninsured in 2026 versus 23 million under the House version of Trumpcare. It also reduces the deficit by $321 billion by 2026. Also premiums go down in the later years because the insurance covers less. Less money...less coverage.

Vote still planned on the Senate floor on Thursday. Procedural vote maybe by Wednesday.

This just came out...more to follow.

It also says because of the "medicate" cuts that then 49 million people are affected.

The more I look at this the "sicker" this country will be; raise your flag and be "loyal" to Trump; what an country!!

Anyone on the site is making bets on how this will end??? Somehow I fear Trump wants to "win" even over "dead" or near "dead" people. So watch your back and wallet and don't eat junk food like he does. Just stay healthy, if possible, otherwise "move" to Canada or Mexico. (or France)

Tonight Trump and Pence will have "dinner' with the senators who said they would vote"no" . I bet the word "loyalty" will be mentioned. Since most Republicans are robots, which is proved by, that they stick like glue to this President, then I think because of the loyalty they will promise to vote "yes". They all know what happened to Comey, who did not promise "loyalty"

What an terrible naive country. Yes we've become an full dictatorship; regardless of what Jared says. Trump already "owns" the "juridical legal" side as well the Supreme court and the House as well Senate. "Checks and balances" are already gone. So I think an full "dictatorship" is achieved in no time, unless Mueller puts an stop to it by impeaching both Trump and Pence. Let's hope so.

Leader McConnell just pulled the bill because he wasn't close to having the votes to even begin debate, let alone pass the bill. Now Republican Senators have to go back to their home states and try to defend the indefensible, which will only make it that much harder for wavering Senators to get behind anything that could potentially take away millions of their constituents health insurance.
