Here's some words I never thought I'd say - Bill O'Reilly has been booted from Fox "News" after it became apparent that it's not good PR to have your biggest star be a serial sexual harasser.

I am shocked that Fox "News" didn't just wait this out, especially since this isn't the first time O'Reilly has been accused of sexual misconduct. I thought that he was just going to go on vacation for a few weeks and then come back after the media scrutiny died down, but it seems like Rupert Murdoch's sons were adamant that O'Reilly be fired.

It will be interesting who Fox "News" puts in his place considering he brought in more money than many of their shows combined.

I heard on MSNBC that Tucker Carlson will move up one hour and take his time slot. The show and name, "The O'Reilly Factor" is history except when Fox News does highlights or reruns.

Nothing like replacing one narcissist with another...

What I find most interesting (if that's the right word) is how Fox "News" likes to claim they speak for "real" America yet they had to fire their founder and CEO and most popular personality because they are serial sexual harassers.

Maybe there is more in some of the allegations than the public knows. One commentator said one of the accusers who settled for a large amount had a tape. There is nothing like a real tape to get the attention of the top management.

In any case, Tucker Carlson, who took Megyn Kelly's time slot, has been doing quite well in the ratings.

Tucker Carlson’s Ratings Nearly Double Megyn Kelly’s on Fox News

I'm not trying to call you out, but this is a Brietbart article that is heavily skewed to only discuss ratings from a very specific time period.

He's also averaging 3 million viewers a night. That's impressive, but 12 million people tune in to "The Big Bang Theory" and 10 million people tune in to "Dancing With the Stars" on any given night. Hell - nearly as many people tune in to WWE Raw.

That many people (Americans) watching garbage television? just wow from me.

How many sexual harassment claims against someone does it take to fire someone? what about sexual assault?

"Donald Trump, an American businessman and current President of the United States, has been accused of sexual assault and sexual harassment by at least fifteen women since the 1980s. Three women have filed lawsuits, which were eventually withdrawn and/or settled, alleging that they were sexually assaulted by Trump. Additionally one accuser filed a defamation lawsuit in 2017 after Trump called her a liar.[1] In addition to these lawsuits, Trump has also been publicly accused of non-consensual kissing, or non-consensual groping of breasts, buttocks and genitalia, by at least twelve more women." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_sexu...

Anyway, I couldn't watch faux news if I wanted to, I don't have cable, but, nevertheless, I'm glad O'really bit the dust, he was a jerk IMHO.

Any predictions how long he stays off the air?

He may be gone from fox, you can bet he had offers on the table before the sun went down today. A lot of smaller cable networks would love to make him their centerpiece hoping he will making them a major player among the cable stations.

Probably go to Rush Limpbag's radio show, or Breitbart could probably use another RWNJ, after his vacation though, two decades is a long time for a racist to pound a message. 3 weeks. Trump might want to give him a cabinet appointment, like maybe helping keep track of America's ships and submarines, since he doesn't have a clue as to their whereabouts.

Faux news will probably give him a $20M severance package.

On the face of it that is funny, but with Trump, I could see him firing Sean Spicer as Press Secretary, and hiring O'Rielly to replace him. Imgine O'Rielly ranting at press each day, forced to backup Trump daily tweets and conspiracy theories.

I suspect Trump would hire O'Rielly without giving it a second thought, but it's likely to be a lot internal push back that would prevent Trump from adding O'Rielly to the White House Staff.

Well, my point of view is that none of Trumps picks are on the same page about anything, e.g. Trump says carrier fleet headed to NK, Tillerson says something different, then Spicer says another thing. I've never seen such incompetency from any presidential office in my lifetime. I could see Trump giving O a cabinet position though, now that you've mentioned it.

While browsing the web today, I see Nugent, kidrock and caribou Barbie were at the white house, maybe Trump is looking for advice from Barbie on Russia, you know she can see Russia from her house.

I was pleased he finally fell. I don't like that he's still getting attention. He is and was bad. Thankfully he's gone.... for now.

Yea, for now. Generally speaking, white conservative men that rise to that level (wealthy, famous, etc), don't have a very good understanding of harassment. They tend to think of harassment in more extreme terms, somebody that stalks women in the middle of the night, have 1000s of pictures of them all over their home, poor, unemployed, etc. They think its harmless for powerful men to say to women at work "Hey babe, if you want to fuck sometime, just let me know!". Nor, do they think there is anything wrong with trading sex for professional favors; "Fuck me, and I make some phone calls on your behalf". Its been their professional world for 50+ years, and they gotten powerful. And it should be noted, some women do make use of such men to help get them what they want.

Wow, you tell it like it is, good for you. I just wonder if Trump is that horny that he just had to have caribou Barbie at the white house, since his wife has been absent. If O'Reilly goes to the white house, he and Donald can have a circle jerk with his staff.
