At a Trump campaign rally yesterday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, only days after meeting China's leader, Trump talked up buy American and hire American, except the place he visited yesterday also imports stuff from China.

And, how's this, the workers at the tool manufacturer where he campaigned at were told not to talk to the media after the campaign rally, hmmmm, nothing like having a gag order placed upon you by your employer!

In my opinion, Trump should have visited retail chain stores all over Kenosha, and pounded his false message at those places, who import cheap Chinese items many Americans purchase every day.

To show my support for the American worker, I birthday shopped for my spouse, I bought her one x-large gift bag, one plastic flower, and one happy birthday card, all of which were made in China, one thing though, an American girl rang up my purchases, I helped her keep her job, because without her, I don't know how to do self check out, nor do I have the cash register key code. Thank you dollar stores for making this all possible.

Has anyone ever told Trump the campaign is over yet? I know he himself has tweeted that about 1,000 times.

And yes, Kenosha does have some of those deplorables, but we also have some anti-Trump people too.

He is doing what dictators do. He is stoking the base to frighten the populace. Preparing for the moment when he announced that he is president for life. He is insane. The white supremist the evenagelicals the ideologues and the right wing nut jobs are becoming very dangerous as they feel empowered to act . This type of propaganda bullshit is meant to prop them up. There is no need to campain , the election is over . It was stolen. This was a coup and the complete the coup the must be continuous rallies just like they do in Nazi Germany , in N Korea, in any authoritarian country where the people must be reminded constantly they they are only safe because of one man. They are working to divide us completely. As they do in any authoritarian government. They want anarchy they have stated they want anarchy. They are working toward the end game.

I have gotten to the point where I can't stand listening to Trump when he gets behind the podium to deliver yet another basket of disjointed lies, exaggerations, and misinformation in that classic "Trump voice" that I find so irritating as he pontificates in short "140 character phrases" like a 5th grader. I hated the sound of Sarah Palin's voice, but I think Trump might be worse at times. Yet he does have a certain appeal to those who latch onto the authoritarian's simplicity and limited vocabulary.

Transparency is his enemy. The more his band of followers are kept in the dark from the evil media, the better he can control the populism of his never ending campaign.

Yes Schmidt , I fully agree. However when I saw this morning that he is building an double tower hotel in Istanbul and praising therefore the "dictator" in Turkey, then the picture is clear. WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO STEP IN AND DEMAND HIS TAX RETURNS AS WELL IMPEACH HIM FOR CONFLICT OF INTERESTS??? I think the FBI and Comey were paid off by him.

Of course the FBI can supena him to get these returns; why is that not done as part of the investigation. Also it is clear via European sources that he loaned huge sums from the Russians etc etc. So something smells badly; but is this country totally gutless to take any action?

I too never could stand caribou Barbie, and the Trump voice repeats what he says often, I nearly needed my barf bucket when WISN interviewed him, but even before that, with another executive order, buy and hire American, I'm guessing Pinchuk didn't tell Trump some of their precious and coveted tools were made in China, the f**king hypocrites!

WE could do a thread on the "enablers" because the Republican Party controls both the House and the Senate and every ethics committee. Congressional Republicans could say "no" but they do not want to go against their own president.

Democrats brought up a bill to force Trump to show his tax returns. Republicans blocked it along with every other possible investigation.

Now those Clinton e-mails. Who knows?

CNBS News, January 9, 2017: GOP Congress will continue to pursue Clinton email investigation

"House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said that his committee will continue to investigate Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state despite the fact that the presidential election is over."

Jason Chaffetz said he will not be seeking re-election. Will his successor continue the investigation? It's always good to have a Clinton investigation in the news to keep the Republican Party "red meat base" on board. "Lock her up."

Sorry, I got off topic. The topic is isolationist rhetoric.

No, no, you were on topic, I believe the entire R party are isolationists, although none of them wishes to come up with any bills on immigration, they'd just rather let the prez. govern by EO. Lots of time for turtle face and his ilk to consume products that were probably made for them by immigrants. When they deport all of the so called illegals, who's going to make pizza and donuts for them? Where are the GOP lawmakers going to shop because when they begin their trade war, Walmart, K Mart, and others won't stock the things they buy cheap either, ah well, isn't that just like republicans? boxing themselves in?

Yes Schmidt, indeed the "ethics" committee left the "building" it no longer exists. Trump and his family can do whatever they like. Where are those lawyers who were screaming all the time about "conflict of interest". He is still running his own business from Mar-a-Lago as well Kushner and Ivanka are running theirs, while working in the White House. How is this possible?? I guess this country only has laws for the lower classes but not the corrupt rich.

You don't have to put people out of work in one place to have jobs in another place. Spend the god dam money. I never cuss but some times you need to make a point. Money velocity. People are afraid to say that money is a resource and needs to be managed just like trees and fish. Money is to facilitate the trade of goods and services not to enslave people.
