    Schmuck!

He is looking tinier every day.

When I saw that tweet, it communicated to me that whatever he said\did during their meeting, she pushed back and wasn't bullied or charmed by him. With other world leaders who have visited (and congressmen), I've gotten a sense that they were willing to shine his shoes to avoid being "TWEEDED" by the Tweet Master.... Trump has to be really ticked off because if he had hooked her, many others leaders around the world would simply fall in line behind her. Not closing the deal with Merkel means many other deals with other leaders are going to be much tougher or simply do not occur. This was huge failure, even if it might not seem that big of a deal right now. Trump may find himself quickly isolated, and the combine resistance of other countries is greater than the power he inherited.

Vanity Fair, January 22, 2017: Is Donald Trump’s Insecurity a National Security Threat?

I have cherry picked a few articles above that provide "confirmation bias" for my thinking that Trump is really insecure. People who are incompetent often make up for the deficiency by being an aggressive bully. The biggest fear that Trump has is that he might fail and that the public will see him as a failure...a loser.

Of course you can also find right wing websites who love the way Trump bullies liberals and Republicans who might cross him. They cannot recognize that he is a phony...a con artist. The confidence that he portrays is a façade.

The 40 to 45 percent of people who have been conned into voting for him or otherwise supporting him, of course, will not recognize his insecurity.

Schmidt, Just like the campaign when I was telling how and why Trump could very possibly win and explained it in detail you guys all criticized, threatened banning me and totally disregarded what I said. So when it was all over and I was 100% right you guys totally ignored reality. Just like then you again wrong and so is every article you cited. Wrong all wrong and you continue to deny the problem while Trump makes more money, gets more power and is uncontrolable. Nobody wants to realize or admit Trump has a gift. Wrong analysis and wrong counter action.

"017: Is Donald Trump’s Insecurity a National Security Threat?"

And the article doesn't not present ant supporting the charge for insecurity. It simply panders to the insecurity of Trump haters almost promising somebody is gonna come in and kick his but. The reaction to Trump is totally wrong. The general attitude is "he's gone to far this time". Something may bring him down but he is going to screw up a lot of existing programs while the opposition crosses fingers waiting for the bigger bully to come in. Ever heard of empirical?

wwjd -- Yes it was so obvious by his body language and the tone of his voice that Angela Merkel was not intimidated by the "buffoon". She had done her homework on him. He is behaving like a petulant child as evidenced by his Saturday Tweet making his case again that Germany should "pay up" now for past underpayments to NATO.

What Trump doesn't understand is that Germany advocates spending more money on diplomacy and humanitarian aid (including refugees) and that strategy saves a hell of a lot more money in the long run than any war that devastates the infrastructure of a country. The two leaders' philosophies are fundamentally opposed to each other. But that is probably expected if you compare their respective roots.

Trump indeed behaved like an "child", like mostly talking about "his" problems, not about Germany versus the US issues.

Thus acted as an "ego" tripper, bully type. Yes he's totally "insecure" especially with foreign leaders who do speak their own language during the interview, which irritates him and are more experienced and educated than him.. Trump knows only one language and that is the "street" "bully" "racist" one.

Let's hope that NATO buys all their "equipment" within Europe and does not accept to buy an useless F35 etc. But only an European produced plane.

Absolutely that is huge difference in perspective and personal awareness.

And another big factor is that Germany knows from first hand experience what happens when the people allow an individual like Trump gain power who is backed by extremists. Merkel knows his kind of thinking does not work and has devastating consequences.

Thankfully for the US, we are not an economically destroyed country as was Germany in the 1930s, thus Trump will not be able to cause that same amount of self-destruction to our country. For the US, Trump is an outliar and he'll be out of politics just as quickly as he entered. What we are experiencing right now is much like a virus that has entered the political system, the system is fighting to get rid of the virus to prevent death. While our system is not perfect, it is healthy\stable, and the system will ultimately kill off the virus. If our system was very unhealthy (ie Germany in the 1920-30s), the virus could destroy\cripple or cause a complete collapse. The 1000 year empire came to very quick end, and so will any future efforts that is rooted in similar ideology.

I admit I never thought it was possible that he could get elected.

Given what you've seen so far, what do think is going to happen going forward. Clearly nobody can predict if he suddenly dies of a heart attack, but other than something like that, what do see happening based on your perception of Trump abilities to be president?
