I don't know how many Americans will be interested in this news since most of the American people take little interest in their government or history but that Oligarchic government in Washington D.C. has degenerated into a Fascist Government because the Republicans in the U.S Congress have refused to impeach Trump for breaking laws and causing great harm to the people in this country and instead these Republicans have supported him and his corrupt, sociopathic appointees. Any Republican supporting a Fascist Government is committing treason and considering the fact that not one Republican in the entire U.S. Congress has opposed this Fascist Government one can only conclude that there are a hellava lot of traitors in the U.S. Congress.

Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren suffering from an acute case of naivete thought they could negotiate and work with Mr. Trump and it didn't take long to cure those cases of naivete. Elizabeth Warren got a close up and personal look at Fascism when those Fascist Republicans in the Senate shut her up in mid speech when they didn't like what she was saying about that corrupt, racist creep Sessions.

Americans must be informed about what a Fascist Government is and how destructive it can be to democratic ideals.

A Fascist Government doesn't give a damn about what the people think, what they want or what they need nor a tinkers damn about the rule of law, truth or justice and lie about everything and make up their own facts. A Fascist Government makes every effort to suppress and destroy a free press and mass news media.

A Fascist Government will demonize the law, vulnerable minority groups, anyone who disagrees with them and will spread hate, fear, ignorance across the land.

Fascists believe that only war and torture is the best way to get what they want.

The only way to destroy Fascism in a country is to fight against them by every means available.

It is interesting that a large percent of Fascist Trump's avid supporters are Christians, of course, one must not forget that Bush who is a war criminal was also a born again Christian and looking from an historical perspective the ideologies of Fascism, Nazism and Christianity have many similarities in common.

Connie, I've could not have said it any better myself. Right on!! Like I said years ago on this site; I've always been wondering what "education" people here get. I think because it is an arrogant "island" which refuses to copy things from other countries (except Britain) ; things could move in an better direction as you indicated if they would study other civil countries. 80% of the people never have been outside of this country. So it is "isolatism" which creates this. On top of it the "fanatic" religious mindset which does not help people here to think "rational" as well "factual". Thus the solution is simple: educate people here with the "right" education.

Nobody wants to fight big money. It doesn't take much to make a lot of people content. If people are doing okay they don't respond to they could be doing a lot better. And its all about money. A lot of people are satisfied with a little money and a little number of people want it all. Look at all the legislation passed of the last thirty years. How much benefitted the USA and how much benefited the upper class and how much benefitted the lower class???

Chet look at the title of the "thread"; we are talking about "facism" not what money people make.

Of course we are talking about what people make. The electoral votes that gave Trump the presidency were from states where economics and economics with racial scapegoating supported Trump. That they ignored his statement regarding Americans are paid too much is unsurprising. All it took was Trump focusing on jobs even though he can do nothing about it in the long run with a massive dose of "somebody else besides the failed economic theology of the non-existent free market is to blame" and enough people swallowed it. Remember that the classic autocrat in Germany did not have the support of the majority of the German people at the start.

I think you also need to be a little more informed about fascism. A good start would be understanding what fascism is.

As I have said countless times - words have meaning and definitions matter. A fascist government would absolutely be destructive to democratic ideals. That's because fascism and democracy are polar opposites.

Fascism is a rule of law, but it's not a rule of law that allows the freedom of speech or press.

A fascist government wouldn't just demonize minority groups; they would exterminate them.

War is a means to an ends and not an end to itself for fascists.

This is what frustrates me about many people on the left. Falling prey to the vitriolic nonsense that defines the militant right is only going to divide this country even more.

We are not being taken over by fascists. The United States is not post WWI Germany that gave rise to Adolf Hiter.

Rational resistance and an educated populace are what's needed to right this ship.

No Jared; I hope that you realize that things are an lot worse (every day) thanyou think it is; have you ever seen an bigger chaos than with any President in the first 30 days????? Like I said you are too "nice" and believe in "goodness"; times have changed.

I've only been alive for the last six Presidents, but I do know my history.

I didn't see it, but I would suggest there was more chaos during Lincoln's first 30 days. Or during FDR's first 30 days when nearly forty percent of the working age population was out of a job and living in deep poverty.

Ask yourself what Donald has actually done this past month. He caused a whole lot of commotion, but he hasn't actually done anything. The courts have blocked his executive orders and the Congress is struggling to even approve his cabinet nominees, let alone pass any piece of legislation.

This is what I'm trying to get across. Checks and balances actually work. And suggesting that we are turning into a fascist dictatorship is just pure nonsense.

I've only been here a short time and I no longer take the OP seriously, and don't read more than first 1-2 lines before moving on to the next post.

I have been on the internet years before there was an internet, back when there were only BBSs that talked to each other via 300 baud modems, and such posts just make me roll my eyes and chuckle.

Jared even McCain said: the things Trump said about the press will lead to "dictatorship" . I'm not so confident that the "checks" and "balances" work. Just look at how he got the "job" without any "vetting" at all. No tax returns, no disclosure of anything. Right now he's running his business from his "winter palace" without any interference or control His sons are off in Dubai and he's constant in contact about if they do the dealing and wheeling to his liking. Thus Jared, wake up. Like I wrote before, the "balances" are out of the window. Shortly he will have full control of the 3 branches of Government, by injecting his people into it.

If there is no control on "vetting" an President, then who is going to control what he's doing if the "control agency" ( if any) is also under the "non vetted"Presidents control??? This country is an total joke!!!

Trump is not a politician. He didn't become president through politics. The presidency was gifted to him. He was proud of saying he owes nobody. And he acts like he owes nobody. Not a good characteristic for the most powerful man in the world.
