CNN is reporting that classified documents show Donald Trump has been compromised by the Russian government, who apparently has explosive information about Trump that they are now holding hostage against him.

"Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN."

CNN promised to reveal exactly what the compromising information is once they are able to independently confirm it, but I have no doubt they know it's legit if they are willing to head to the airwaves and report on this now.

This is, to say it in Trumps own words, huuuuuuge.

Think about this for a second. A foreign government has potentially explosive information about the President-elect that could be used as a negotiating tactic to extract concessions from the United States government.

What drives me even more mad is the fact that FBI Director James Comey undoubtedly knew about this before the American public went to the polls in November but kept quiet. The double standard as to how he handled Hillary Clinton is just sickening.

Here is the "compromising information" that is being discussed in the media without getting into the salacious details. Some of it is really damaging to the Trump presidency, and if proven to be true would undo his presidency.

I should have mentioned that Buzzfeed was the source of this report and the Huffington Post linked to the compromising information, a 35 page dossier. What members of Congress, the President and President Elect saw was a 2 page condensed version of this 35 page report.

Huffington Post: BuzzFeed Defends Publishing Unverified Allegations About Donald Trump’s Russia Ties

Also, with Trump's propensity to sue everyone we need to be careful about what we write in this website.

I agree that it's smart to not publish unverified information, which is why I only linked to the CNN article. They broke the story this afternoon, but didn't publish the document like Buzzfeed. I tend to believe that CNN wouldn't have ran with it if they weren't certain that it was legit.

Jeff Sessions was even asked it during his hearing today, which was crazy sight to see because he seemed shell shocked after Senator Franken asked him about it under oath.

All of this was already on the news in the Netherlands a while ago; this information came from MI6 ( Britain) it also stated that Trump visited there and stayed in the same hotel as Obama did; the other thing it said that he invited "women" to his room. Also it was said that Trumps mafia buddies went there to ASK to interfere into the elections, so he could win.

Thus I wonder about all of this; it should be possible to confirm/trace if indeed his clan or himself visited there and when etc. Our CIA and the MI6 should be able to confirm all of this in no time.

Trump of course denies everything and claims that we treat him as the Nazi's did. Wow, guess who was the leader of the Nazi's who he likes to imitate??

The fact that the US intelligence community decided to insert a two page condensed version of the allegations in the confidential report seems to suggest that although not of the level of proof of the hacked Clinton e-mails the allegations had some credibility. Either that or the intelligence community is getting back at Trump for denigrating their institution.

In any case, as Dutch stated, the MI6 allegations have been in certain international media and some social websites for some time now, but being so outrageous, all mainstream media have until now refused to publish or link to it. Buzzfeed raised the stakes. Now the whole USA social networking medium has privy to the details and the news is travelling fast.

Whether the allegations are true or not, they have done much damage to the Trump presidency. In a sense he is getting a taste of his own medicine (although much more extreme). He has denied the allegations with an ALL CAPS tweet calling it Fake News. Until we get more corroborating evidence we should be cautious.

Schmidt as I said, it is easy to prove that he indeed visited Russia as well his cronies; certainly the Russians have this info.

So is Comey again playing the game and is part of the cover up???? The Russians know how to play the game; first get Hillary in the gutter, now it is Trumps turn to throw him into his own swamp. The Russians are laughing at us all the way.

The stupidity in this country is unbelievable; why did no one "vet" this guy during the Primaries?????? Now it is too late. The deviation tactics by letting the "nominees" being "grilled right now helps the idiot again. If you had and sound Government then you should stop all of this till this story is all confirmed or indeed fake.

The idiot "tweeted" now that he was treated as an Nazi ; my question is if he's acting like Hitler, should n't he be treated as such???

I like to add: What I think is the most damaging item is that Trumps "buddies" who visited Russia ASKED the Russians to interfere in the elections in order to harm Hillary. They complied!

    I call that "treason"

I assume there is a lot of credibility to the reports and no evident "holes" that could undermine them. That includes corroboration of Trump's trip to Russia.

NBC's Richard Engel said he has been unable to find anyone in Russia to corroborate the allegations, but then Engel is more of a Middle East expert than a Russian expert.

For many, what really adds credibility to the stories is Trump's own intransigence in refusing to publicly accept the intelligence findings or condemn Russia in anyway. It sometimes appears that he is taking orders from Moscow...being blackmailed. If Trump removes sanctions from Russia, then it further feeds the collaboration allegations.

Trump's new conference (today at 11:00 am EST) will not likely enlighten anyone on the allegations, but it will be interesting to see how he reacts psychologically as reporters undoubtedly ask him about it in their so annoying manner. Will they get under his thin skin?

Schmidt the Dutch news had much more detail. The point is as you said "blackmail" will be used by the Russians. Furthermore they showed the room where Trump stayed in 2013. My experience in the "east block" where I visited Romania's President (Ceaucescu) : on arrival we were already met with their security on the plane and led to an special room where our picture was taken etc. before we were transported to the Presidential palace. Thus if you arrive in Russia as an Trump figure, sure they have your arrival picture. Of course they have hidden camera's in the hotel where he stayed. This also applies to his "buddies" who he sent to ask for undermining Hillary. The Russians right now won't admit this and keep all this info till he is in power and then use it as blackmail; I'm convinced of that.

I watched Trump's so called news conference...highly unusual. Kind of an extension of his many rallies calling out certain media. He called the CNN journalist "Fake News". Buzzfed "trash". But he also compared the intelligence community to Nazi Germany in the way information has been leaked to the media.

It is the same exact Trump we got to know on the campaign trail. The word "presidential" doesn't apply as we know it from the Obama presidency. We can discuss his plans to address his conflicts of interest more, but I'll let it go for now.

Trumpy is owned lock, stock & barrel by the Ruskies. The details may be blurry but that doesn't negate the fact.

Double standards once again. He loves that crap helping him but it's insane, fake, crazy, outrageous when the sword is turned. I hope all imaginable negatives come his way. Bad Karma begets bad Karma.
