A Republic rewards and praises all those truth tellers who reveal criminal activities going on in that Republic and a clear indication of the fact America is no longer a Republic is how it treats its truth tellers like Manning, Snowden and Assange and such unjust, unfair, cruel treatment means America's Republic has become a Fascist government.
If Obama refuses to pardon Manning, Snowden and Assange it leaves no doubt that America's leaders believe the words truth and justice have no meaning for them.
assange's motives are mixed.
manning and snowden should be pardoned.

Julian Assange is an Australian national. President Obama couldn't pardon him if he wanted to.
Snowden hasn't been convicted of any crime. The President can technically pardon him because the President can issue pardons to any American citizen regardless of them being convicted of anything, but I wouldn't hold your breath. He hasn't once hinted that he was even considering that and has repeatedly called on Snowden to return to America so he can face a trial. That doesn't sound like he's considering to let him off the hook.
Chelsea Manning is the only one who may (and I think it's a very unlikely may) have a chance at a last minute pardon or commutation by Obama. President Obama has never been a big fan of anyone who spills national security secrets. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I just don't see him pardoning her. I could see him maybe commuting her sentence to time served, but I'd be shocked if he gave her a full and complete pardon.
The word 'fascism' is thrown around quite freely when people on both the right and the left don't like something the government has done. I would certainly agree that certain demographics of the population are trending towards fascism...hyper patriotism (wrapping yourself in the flag) is just one trait. I would not apply the term to anything President Obama has done or not done.
On the other hand, Trump mania could be considered fascist trending. Robert Kagan had an opinion article in the Washington Post that is of some interest on this topic.
This is how fascism comes to America
I won't take any lines out of context. If you are interested in how fascism might really come to America, read the article. It is intellectually more stimulating to the mind and critical thinking than throwing the word fascist at anything you don't like.
I do not believe that America is a Republic because the rule of law in the U.S. Government does not exist, our government is owned and operated by the Robber Barons/Global Corporations, the Military Industrial Complex and AIPAC and has been totally corrupted by billions in campaign contributions. If I use the word fascism it is because I believe any country that treats truth tellers like criminals that is fascism and a vast criminal, unconstitutional surveillance system is also a fascist trait.
I'd like to ask you a question, "Do you believe that America is still a Republic?" and if you do then you don't know what a Republic is!
