Todd S. Purdum of Vanity Fair has conducted a thorough research article on Sarah Palin. In reading the article, Palin's personality traits are perhaps best summed up by her fellow Alaskans as having a “narcissistic personality disorder...a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy" - a thought Purdum said fit her perfectly.
