May 10th 1999, Newt Gingrich asked his second wife for an "open marriage" policy or a divorce. Two days later, he spoke of family values, God and the demise of American culture at a conference titled, "The Demise of American Culture". This goes against everything Gingrich supposedly stands for, leaving his wife to ask in an interview, “How could he ask me for a divorce on Monday and within 48 hours give a speech on family values and talk about how people treat people?” Gingrich recently came out and said this story is false.

Newt Gingrich made between $1.6 million and $1.8 million in consulting fees from two contracts with mortgage company Freddie Mac, according to two people familiar with the arrangement. Gingrich’s business relationship with Freddie Mac spanned a period of eight years. At first he said it was for history lessons. Executives at Freddie Mac beg to differ. According to Freddie executives, Gingrich was hired to "build bridges" to his old pals (although not to lobby them) and also to "provide written material that could be circulated among conservatives on Capitol Hill and outside organizations." The fees that Gingrich received were self-renewing, monthly retainers of $25,000 to $30,000 between May 1999 until 2002. He recently criticized President Obama during the 2008 Presidential campaign and this year he criticized Congressman Barney Frank and even suggested Frank be sent to jail for having a relationship with the very same company. Hypocritical to the max.
