At a July 26 rally in Centennial, Republican candidate and Tea Party favorite for governor Dan Maes warned the crowd that his Democratic opponent, John Hickenlooper, had enlisted Denver in a program that would lead to UN control. “This is all very well-disguised, but it will be exposed,” said Maes. “This is bigger than it looks like on the surface, and it could threaten our personal freedoms,” he added. The program in question? Denver’s bike-sharing program, B-Cycle.

Senate Republican candidate from Colorado Ken Buck, another Tea Party favorite, acknowledges similarities of his contest to those of Sharron Angle, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio. Buck has stated that while he’s not for “state sponsored religion”...“we would be much better off with a closer relationship between church and state.” Buck has also adopted other radical Tea Party talking points like eliminating the Departments of Education and Energy and the National Endowment for the Arts.
